Slowly does it... as carrier moves 100 yards

IT took a combined team of Teesside and Tyneside workers three days of painstaking effort to move a cross-section of the new Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier 100 yards at a North-East shipyard.
Ten staff at A&P, at Hebburn, South Tyneside, alongside heavy lifting specialists ALE, worked in freezing temperatures to transfer the two 362-tonne rings which form a cross section of the carrier.
